Visiting Artist Series 2023

Under the direction of Music Director Drew Cohen, Weber's Music Program launched its Visiting Artist Series in September of 2022, bringing renowned local and national musicians to the Weber community to share their expertise during masterclasses and events. This year’s opening of the Tzadik Performing Arts Center marks a new era for the series, as Weber becomes a hub for hosting diverse artists and transforms how students engage with music and the arts.

Recent visiting musicians include members of the Kleztronica Collective, Kaia Berman-Peters, and Eleonore Weill. Their workshops with students in the music composition, band, and sound engineering classes offered an in-depth exploration of the emerging genre of Yiddish Electronic music, providing a blend of traditional and modern musical elements to further the students’ understanding of musical fusion and innovation. Weber also welcomed Zoe Aqua, who, fresh from her Fulbright scholarship in Transylvania, brought a unique international perspective to the students by sharing music and insights she gained abroad.
