The Weber School is proud to announce the recipients of the AP Capstone Diploma™ and AP Seminar and Research Certificate™ for the 2023-2024 academic year. These students successfully completed a challenging, multi-year program that emphasizes critical thinking, collaboration, and research skills—an achievement highly regarded by colleges and universities worldwide.
Seven Weber students earned the prestigious AP Capstone Diploma, while four students received the AP Seminar and Research Certificate. The AP Capstone program, offered by over 2,500 schools globally, provides students with the opportunity to explore their passions through scholarly research and project-based learning.
“We are incredibly proud of our AP Capstone students and their outstanding achievements,” said Principal Shlaina Van Dyke. “With the guidance of their dedicated teachers, Dr. Hannah Chapple and Dr. Jessica Doble, these students engaged in impactful research that challenged them to think critically and collaborate effectively. The skills they’ve developed through this program will undoubtedly serve them well as they move forward in their academic journeys.”
AP Capstone Diploma recipients include Johanna Epstein, Ethan Goodhart, Ava Halpert, Sidney Parker, Samuel Rosenthal, Yonaton Sasson, and Ryan Straw. AP Seminar and Research Certificate recipients include Rachel Cozewith, Eden Guggenheim, Heather Hutmacher, and Renee Vaysman.
To earn the AP Capstone Diploma, students had to score 3 or higher in both AP Seminar and AP Research, as well as on four additional AP exams. For the AP Seminar and Research Certificate, students needed to score 3 or higher in both AP Seminar and AP Research. Unlike traditional AP courses, AP Capstone assessments focus on interdisciplinary projects that require students to engage in research, collaboration, and presentation—skills that are essential for both academic and professional success.
