No Day but Today!

Weber students took the stage for a historic, sold-out run of the spring musical, RENT.

All three performances packed the Tzadik Performing Arts Center to capacity, with boho-style student seating on the floor adding to the intimate atmosphere. In a nod to the original Broadway staging, Weber’s house band, Broken Glass, played live, bringing even more energy and immediacy to the production. At the final curtain call, the seniors in the cast took a moment to thank the theatre program and the students and faculty who had supported them throughout their time on the Weber stage.

At each performance, cast members spoke to the audience about how RENT connects to the community’s larger purpose, sharing:

RENT is a story about love, resilience, and community—values that feel especially important right now. As you may know, we’ve dedicated this production to a cause close to our hearts: helping rebuild Kibbutz Nahal Oz and Kibbutz Nir Oz in the wake of October 7. Through our Concert for the Kibbutzim, we made an incredible start, and tonight, we’re continuing that effort. Thank you for standing with us and for being part of something bigger than the stage.

What began as one evening has grown into a school-wide fundraising effort that will continue through the end of the academic year.  To date, Weber has raised over $42,000 through the Campaign for the Kibbutzim. With the 1:1 matching opportunity from The Marcus Foundation still in place up to $50,000, the Weber community remains committed to sustaining this initiative and supporting our extended family in Israel.
