Spring Sports Spotlight
With the season in full swing, Weber’s spring athletes are making an impact across every sport, shattering records, securing big wins, and proving that hard work pays off.
Baseball (5-2, 1-0 region) came out swinging, opening the season with back-to-back combined no-hitters! Seven Rams pitchers dominated in a 7-0 exhibition win over Cherokee, while Sammy W., Joshua W., and Isaac B. teamed up to no-hit 4A powerhouse Pace Academy in a thrilling 2-1 regular season opener. The team also took down 6A Centennial (5-3) and clinched their first region win with a 9-0 shutout over Mt. Bethel.
Golf (2-1) started strong, opening with a 188-212 victory over North Springs, highlighted by senior Zach N.’s 1-under-par round. They followed up with another win, taking two of three matches in a scramble against Chattahoochee.
Boys Soccer (3-3) is showing offensive firepower early in the season! They opened with a 5-0 scrimmage win over North Springs, led by Iddo M. (2), Matan A. (2), and Josh L. (1). Their first regular season win was a 4-1 victory over Pinecrest, with goals from Iddo M. (2), Matan A. (1), and Aidan M. (1). They continued their momentum with a 6-1 victory over AJA, featuring goals from Matan A. (2) and four additional players, demonstrating the team’s depth.
Girls Soccer secured their first win of the season in dominant fashion, defeating AJA 7-1! Sara D. led the charge with a hat trick, while four other Rams added goals, making it a true team effort.
Track & Field is setting the pace this season, with record-breaking performances and top finishes:
- Boys 4x400m relay shattered the school record (3:37), winning 1st place at the Marist Meet!
- Nuriel S. – 1st in 110m & 300m hurdles (Marist Meet), 2nd in 110m hurdles, and 1st in 300m hurdles (River Ridge).
- Elijah C. – 1st in long jump, 3rd in 400m dash (Marist), 5th in 400m dash (Allatoona), 2nd in 400m dash (River Ridge).
- Zane G. – 2nd in long jump (Marist), 1st in long jump (River Ridge).
- Marisa R. – 3rd in 800m run (Roswell), 2nd in 800m run (Allatoona), 2nd in 1600m run (River Ridge).
- Girls 4x400m relay – 1st place (Allatoona).
- Revital L. & Charlotte S. – 2nd & 3rd in long jump (River Ridge).
- Ava S. – 3rd in shot put (River Ridge).
Boys Tennis (3-3) secured big wins over Whitefield and Mount Vernon. Standout players include Jesse K. (4-2 at 3 singles) and doubles pair Jake M. & Dillon G. (4-2 at 1 doubles).
Girls Tennis (3-3) also celebrated big wins over Mt. Pisgah and Whitefield. Sophie S. remains undefeated (4-0 at 2 singles), with the doubles teams showing strong performances throughout the season.
