This past Sunday, The Weber School welcomed the incredible Howard Levy 4, a dynamic band featuring Grammy-winning harmonica master, pianist, and composer Howard Levy, alongside guitarist Chris Siebold, bassist Joshua Ramos, and drummer Luiz Ewerling. Their performance showcased a captivating blend of jazz, Latin, world music, and blues that brought the audience to their feet. The next day, these talented musicians returned to share their expertise in a workshop with students from across Weber’s Music Program.
During the workshop, the band explored various world music styles, offered practical advice on practice habits, and emphasized the importance of musical communication. Students appreciated the band's depth of musical knowledge and enjoyed their impromptu jams. The musicians played a few tunes to demonstrate various techniques, giving students insight into their skill and creativity while offering the rare opportunity for our students to learn from professional musicians in a personal setting.
The band's visit, Howard Levy's second as part of Weber's Visiting Artist Series, marks another milestone in the Performing Arts Program, launched in September 2022. The Tzadik Performing Arts Center, with its state-of-the-art rehearsal and recording spaces, continues to elevate our students' artistic growth by providing an inspiring environment where they can collaborate and thrive.
